Former President Donald Trump faces mounting legal challenges as a New York judge finds him in contempt of court for the second time in his hush-money trial.
On Monday, Judge Juan Merchan issued the ruling after Trump violated a gag order with additional social media posts about trial witnesses. Merchan warned of potential jail time if Trump continues to flout the order.
"The magnitude of such a decision is not lost on me," Merchan stated, "but at the end of the day, I have a job to do."
Last week, Merchan fined Trump $9,000 for nine violations of the gag order, marking the first instance of criminal contempt in the case.
